Dr. Savvas Tzanis has a Phd Degree in Insurance Economics from the University of Saint Gallen, Switzerland where he carried out the only research available today in the factors affecting the diffusion of the direct distribution channel (sales of insurance products over the internet and telephone) in several European markets.
He holds a Master’s degree in Insurance and Risk Management from the Cass Business School, City University of London
He holds two Bachelor’s degrees, one in Law from the Law School of the University of Athens and one in Economics from the University of Patras. He also holds a Diploma in Insurance from the Chartered Insurance Institute in London.
He has received scholarships of academic excellence from Government institutions in both Greece and Switzerland.
He has been a speaker at several conferences in Europe for claims settlement and direct sales of insurance.
He has collaborated with some of the greatest consulting firms in projects related to the development of direct distribution of insurance products in several European markets and has advised leading Insurance firms of Central Europe that sell their products directly or traditional insurance companies that intend to start selling directly without facing channel conflict with the indirect distribution channels (brokers or agents) they already have.
He is the author of the book “Direct Insurance, The Determinants of Success”
