George Tzanis

Mr. George Tzanis is a distinguished personality in the Greek insurance market. He holds a law degree from the University of Athens and he studied insurance at the Chartered Insurance Institute in London.

He is the President of the Management Board of IMPERIAL HELLAS S.A and founder of the Loss Adjusting company IMPERIAL Claims Services.

For sixteen years, he has been a Member of the Management Board of the Association of Greek Insurance Companies, President of the Greek Motor Insurer’s Bureau (MIB) and General Secretary of the Greek Guarantee Fund.

He has served as Member of the Management Committee of the Council of Bureau in Brussels, Chairman of the Motor Committee and of the IT and Statistical Committee of the Association of Greek Insurance Companies and Chief Legal Officer of the insurance company Prime.

He is a specialist in the Green Card system and in the 4th MID and he has been involved as a lawyer in an immense number of cross-border traffic accidents. He has given lectures at ELKEPA, the Greek Institute of Insurance Education.

He is the author of 2 books entitled “The Green Card system and the History of the Greek Bureau” and “The 4th MID”. Those two books have been used for the training of the Loss adjusters of the Greek insurance companies who deal with foreign claims.
